Who are we?
Manolo Ruiz: was born in Barcelona in the 1950ies and started riding as a teenager. His professional career was originally in commerce and marketing, but by the age of 33, Manolo decided to move back to the home of his forefathers in Andalucia, in the south of Spain, and dedicate himself to equestrian tourism.Together with his family he set up the Cabacci riding centre in Guadix.
As Cabacci grew, Manolo found himself implicated in all aspects of the business, including teaching children and adults how to ride, and giving classes as part of the Equestrian tourist guide scheme for the Spanish government. He designed and set up all the existing routes around the area, opening up once again many forgotten paths of the Sierra Nevada. Manolo is currently vice-president of the Andalusian Equestrian Tourist board, AGETREA.
When asked to describe himself, Manolo talks about his love for people, horses and nature and describes horses as our companions through life. His clients describe him as been a chilled out and relaxed guide that makes the most of life and takes brilliant care of all the finer details of his holidays himself.
Manolo speaks Spanish and Catalan, as well as French and can communicate quite happily in English.
